Chigo Ike, Khoury’27

Yale Africa Innovation Symposium

“During the symposium, I had the opportunity to attend two highly thought-provoking workshops. The Economic Transformation session led by Euler Broleph, Founder of Vested World(leading VC in funding African early-stage startups),  provided valuable insights into revolutionizing Africa’s digital economy through innovative strategies and digital solutions. More specifically, we engaged in a case study about a struggling AI startup based in Ghana and we were able to come up with solutions that solved its issues of monetization while maintaining strong relationships to its community.”

Hakim Badmus, Khoury’25

AfroTech

“Thanks to the Dare to Excel Grant, I was able to attend AfroTech 2024, a transformative experience that connected me with thousands of brilliant innovators in the tech industry. As an aspiring tech professional passionate about game development, I had the incredible opportunity to engage with companies at the forefront of gaming and technology, including Riot Games and Roblox, who invited me to private networking events.”

Jamira Collins, COS’25

NU Dialogue of Civilizations to Nepal

“For the Summer One session of 2023, I participated in a Dialogue in Nepal. I took two courses, The Yoga Tradition in Nepal: Philosophy, Methods, and Practice and Mindfulness: Theory and Practice. During my month’s duration in Nepal, I learned about the history and origin of Yoga and Meditation while practicing both mindfulness tools daily. Submersed in nature and beautiful sights, it was the perfect way to practice mindfulness.”

Oceane Kenfack Tonfack, Khoury’24

AfroTech

“Attending AfroTech was truly a one of one opportunity. AfroTech is a dynamic and empowering experience for a vibrant and inclusive community focused on technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The event provides a platform for networking, learning, and celebrating the achievements of Black individuals in the tech industry.”

Jerimiah Kouka, COS’24

NU Dialogue of Civilizations to Ghana

“Beyond the classroom, I engaged in diverse activities, from teaching children about dental hygiene and visiting historic slave castles to invigorating hikes and shadowing healthcare professionals across specialties. The experience expanded my academic horizons and immersed me in Ghana’s vibrant culture and healthcare practices, creating lasting memories and valuable insights.”
